- In this prologue Antigone is trying to convince her sister Ismene to help her bury their brother polinícese who died at battle along with their other brother eteo les who got a proper burial. Polynicies however did not because the king,creon, said he was a traitor and did not deserve to be mourned or buried properly. Antigone wanted to keep her word because before polinícese died he y old Antigone to please give him a proper burial.
- In this prologue Antigone is trying to convince her sister Ismene to give their brother polinícese a proper burial. They had just got the news that both their brothers had died. One of their brothers eteocoles got a proper burial while their other brother polinícese did not but since Ismene is a rule follower she refuses to help.
- Ismene:madwomen,even if creon forbids it ?
- Antigone:i will bury My brother-your brother,too, though you refuse! I will not be found a traitor
- Just now someone has buried the corpse and gone off, sprinkling dust over its flesh and performing the due rites..
- In scene one cren delivers the news to the elders that bothbrothers polynicies and etocoles have killed each other in bat-Ite So he is now king. He then orders that no one is to give-polvnicies one of the brothers a proper burial hecause he was a traitor. While that was being said a sentry came in nervouslytelling creon that someone gave polynicies a burial which wasagainst creons law.Creon is then furious and determined to findwho did this.
- Unless you find the culprit of this tomb and bring him before these eyes of mine death alone will not protect you you’ll all be hanged alive to demonstrate your insolent crime.
- Here she is who did the deed, she’s the one we found burying him
- In scene 2 the sentry brings in Antigone telling creon that he saw her give polynices a proper burial by doing a ritual and placing dirt on him and sprinkling wine. Creon could not belive this that a girl especially Antigone could have done such a thing so he asked her if this was true and Antigone did not deny it one bit. He then gets furios and accuses her sister Ismene of doing the same, Ismene takes responsibility for doing this deed but Antigone dose not let her take blame for something she did not do.
- I assert that i did it i do not deny it
- You there , staring at the ground, speak up do you affirm or Deny doing these things?
- ”The right judge judges wrong”
- In scene one Creon delivers the news to the elders that polinices and eteocoles have killed each other in battle so he will now be king. He then orders that polynicies can not get a proper burial because he was a traitor. While that was being said he got news from a sentry that someone has given polynicies a proper burial and creon got furious.
