- Lexington Battle - Neither side was expected to fight, but since a gunshot went off in confusion the two sides were forced to fight. No one knows who fired the first shot. Concord Battle - When the Americans first got to Concord, they started to search he town for the militia's hidden stash of weapons and munitions. The Americans had retreated to the outskirts of Concord and observed the British from other side of the North Bridge.

- As the British Army approached, Daniel Morgan set up his defense. He positioned his men into three lines. The front line consisted of around 150 riflemen. Rifles were slow to load, but accurate. He told these men to shoot at the British officers and then retreat.

- The British Army was now surrounded at Yorktown. They were greatly outnumbered by the French and American troops. For eleven days the American forces bombarded the British. Finally Cornwallis sent out the white flag for surrender.
