- The Black school got hand me down books from the white school. They were very wrecked. Little man was mad because they had an offensive word in it.
- This book is perfectly fine!
- No its not!
- Your back!!!
- Papa was back from working on the railroad and he brought Mr. Morrison with him.
- Yes!! I can only stay for a little while. This is Mr. Morrison. He will stay here for a while while I work on the railroad.
- Oh No! We are stuck in a huge mud puddle!
- Stacey made a plan to sabotage the bus. He did this because the bus kept on splashing them when they were walking by. The plan was to dig a hole during lunch and recess and then the bus will get stuck in the mud. The plan worked!
- We planned this perfectly!
- T.J. really wanted to pass the test so he got cheat notes. Stacy saw what he was doing so he took them from T.J. Mrs. Logan saw Stacy have the cheat notes so she whipped him.
- Why are you cheating Stacy?
- Stop Cheating! Give me those cheat notes so I can dump them.
- Ok Fine! Hurry take it!
- Big Ma brought T.J., Cassie, and Stacy to the Strawberry Market. While Big Ma was talking, T.J., Cassie, and Stacey went to a store. While T.J. was buying something, a white person went in from of them and the store owner helps them. Cassie gets mad and wonders why they are helping other people before them because they were there first.
- Me first! I'll take some of those.
- What do you have for food?
- What! We were here first!
- Wow! That's a sweet ride!
- Like my Packard? Its newer than Mr. Granger's!
- Uncle Hammer comes to visit the Logan's. He gets Stacy a new coat. The Logans find out he has a very new Packard. When they go to church everybody was amazed.
