- In the first chapter Lizzie is very mad because David had never told her that he had after school detention so Lizzie and Suzie were soaked asthey waited for him outside of the school in the freezing cold rain.

- Also in the first chapter when they were walking home they crossed the footbridge. David was hanging of the side of the bridge watching thingsfloating by including the big fat racoon and the picnic table and other pieces of debris. That scared Lizzie so she pulled him off the side of the footbridge.

- They all got home safely and were drinking hot chocolate and eating. Then the Mrs. Mcbride called to check in. She said that they were going to be a bit late coming home and that Lizzie needs to stay there overnight. She also said that the roads were busy and it was raining really hard in toronto.
