I sat down with my dad and talked all day about his own dad, and how his dad suffered through a lot. His dad, John, was very poor when his family first moved here from Poland, being and immigrant during this time was hard but John and his family fought through it and lived a happy life.
When John was growing up, he didn't have very much but he was still happy. He found ways to make everyone happy with what little they had. Growing up with little to nothing taught him a lot but also gave him a lot of stress for trying to provide for his family.
john even though he worked hard never truly went far in life. John stayed happy though with his jokes and making people laugh, and eventually his loving family.
john never really tried to stay in shape, he was happy, so he just ate what he wanted which ended up giving him some problems later in life. for example, he was very obese and was told by doctors to lose this weight he had put on.
When he was overweight is when he had been family. His wife (my grandma) who he truly loved helped him through everything with his weight loss and when he was diagnosed with depression. His depression was a chemical a balance, so it was hard to deal with even with his medication. He eventually lost his job because he couldn't get over his depression.
Him losing his job made his depression ten times worst so life at home got worse. He still made people laugh and tried to stay happy, but he would just sit around all day with nothing to do. John eventually got somewhat over his depression when his kids got older and realized they thought he was a great father. Unfortunately, John, because he was obese, had a Heart attack years later and died. Still to this day everyone that new him believes he was one of the greatest guys ever.
