- In 1636, the Qing Dynasty was established to better control the territories of Manchuria after seizing Beijing from Li Zicheng, who had captured the city from the Mings.
- The Qing made sure that all their highest ranking officials that helped them rule their country were Manchu, so that there was a higher sense of loyalty to their leaders.
- The Chinese military leaders that were stripped of their rank and noble title, they were entered into the Lüying or Army of the Green Standard to protect the country in case of a rebellion, so they were strategically placed around the country.
