It does not just look like over-eating, undereating is also a sign of stress. Stress inducing the way we eat is an unhealthy coping mechanism that is widely normalized. Avoiding stress eating includes making sure you are eating the correct amount and giving yourself the nutrition you need.

COPING

Coping mechanisms are things we do/use to calm down, ease the mind, or distract ouselves from a current orpast event. People with mental illness, trauma, or unstable emotional health may develop unique coping mechansism. Even if you do not fall into any of those categories, you may use certian things to cope without realizing it.



Healthy coping mechanisms:

- Talking to friends or family

- Taking care of a pet

- Exerising (in moderation)
