Main Cause of WWI: Imperialism

- There were multiple causes to WW1 such as assasination, militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism. However, I believe the main cause of WWI is Imperialism. Without Imperialism many border tensions wouldn't have developed and caused problems, alliances wouldn't have been made, and empires wouldn't have taken sides. Tensions were high between industrialized countries, despereate to grab land and build their colonies.
- As well as the causes of WWI, unfair treaties to trade and the broken promises of more land made by the US with Japan also caused the Bombing of Pearl Harbour. (AKA: Japan and the US's involvement in WWII). As a result of Imperialism there were border tensions, and countries were in constant
- As a result of Imperialism many countries began to take sides/grow tensions between one another. Each country was fine with becoming a more developed country at the expense of another.
- Grab for Africa: As countries began to compete with one another for colonies, more and more countries were desperate to take a piece of Africa for themselves. Africa possessed many natural resources such as salt, gold, oil, (and more recently diamonds). Countries took parts of land without any regards to the cultural/tribal tensions between any of the native peoples which resulted in conflicts between the tribes and the foreigners.
