the blue veil was hand crafted by her. She is on her knees because she is praying at home. She is at home working because she's a house wife.
the grey and light blue home spun wool was typical clothes Mary would have worn.
This is baby Jesus the child Mary gave birth to who is our saviour.
Pots would be used to fetch water from the village centre. it would've been carried on the head or shoulder.
Mary the mother of Jesus wore a blue veil and a grey cloak that would've been home spun wool that she made herself. She is on Knees because she is praying at home because females didn't learn how to read or write because they were learning house duties. she would've not had time to go to the synagogue to pray because she is looking after Jesus and making food and also cleaning the house starting early in the morning. Baby Jesus is laying in the hay because they were poor which mean't they couldn't afford a nice bed for him to lay in and is the only thing the would have. Jesus as a baby was rapped in a blanket to keep warm. The pots were used to carry water in them. The wife or women would go to the centre of the village to collect the water from a well. Then this would be carried back ether on their shoulder or on their head. Mary as the first disciple of christ, knew that faithfulness would involves pain and suffering. Mary would've gone though the pain and suffering as Jesus because thats her son also believing in God. The pain would've hurt more for Mary because she's feeling the pain Jesus is going through. Mary shared her joys and sorrows with others by including them with her, by praying with Jesus becoming the first disciple of her son.Mary proclaimed the justice of God by listening to what he would say to her and what the angels were saying. Mary demonstrated this through her obedience to God and her son by always being by his side and always listening to what he said also always believing in him no matter what.
