- ABOUT 6000 BC
- I wish we didn't have to eat our livestock. Hunting and gathering is terrible. If only there was another way, an easier way, to get food.
- I want to help hunt but I'm to small!
- What if we lived right by the Tigris River? Then we could use the water from there to help grow our food!
- Then we could also grow our food with this silt! It's perfect!
- Since we started living by a river, I have started farming. I mainly grow grain, then sell it. That is how we pay our taxes. My slave helps me with my animals in the field. He is a big part in the domestication on my animals.
- Now we are able to keep our livestock and grow a garden at the same time!
- We have been able to spend more time doing what we enjoy! I have started learning how to read cuneiform!
- AROUND 5000 BC
- Once my house was finished, I was able to prepare our meals under a roof. I make a variety of meals that can either have a plant based or meat based dish. I have my slaves help me cook and clean after we have completed eating.
- AROUND 4000 BC
- 15 years later
- The ziggurat is in the center of our city-state. The god(s) rest at the top of it. However, on priest and royals are allowed to enter.
- As Sumerians, we are ploytheistic. This means that we worship more than one god.
- Ever since we were young we have been a polytheistic people. That means we worship more than one god.
- We can also spend more time on our lives instead of just hunting!
