The War

- Nancy Ann Smith is a simple woman. She lives in South Carolina in the year 1776 living as the wife of a patriot. Her husband is fighting in the war well she is at home. She has always been on her husband's side, wanting change in the place she calls home. She wants to be part of that change.
- On August 2nd, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed. This was her moment of change. She was tired of the British trying to grab hold of her home and freedom. She wanted to fight for her own independence not waiting for others to do it for her.
- She decided to become a nurse. Helping the front lines with the endless injured soldiers. bloody and bruised from battle. She's found her way of support towards the war. Hoping anyway she can towards her independence.
- On September 8th, 1781 battle broke out in Eutaw Springs, South Carolina. She's back at camp overwhelmed with the number of soldiers heading her way. She tends to one while two others need her attention. There are other nurses, but there are just too many who need help.
- Tending to injured soldiers and healing their wounds. She enjoyed this, being able to care for them. Even though she was so overwhelmed and felt as if she wanted to quit. To be done with it all, she wanted to finish what she started.
- On September 3rd, 1783 the war came to a close. America gained its independence from Britain establishing itself as its own country. She worked so hard as a nurse risking her life for her home. Nancy Ann Smith was a simple woman, but now she helped create a new nation.
