- As soon as he rings the doorbell for the BNB an old lady opens the door immediately which is a bit creepy.He pressed the bell. Far away in a back room he heard it ringing, and then at once —it must have been at oncebecause he hadn’t even had time to take his finger from the bell button—the door swung open and a woman wasstanding there

- The Landlady is making Billy Weaver sign the book to make a reservation.He found the guest book lying open on the piano, so he took out his pen and wrote down his name and address.
- The Landlady is telling him how he has been the only guest in the past two years. Excuse my asking, but haven’t there been any other guests here exceptthem in the last two or three years?”“No, my dear,” she said. “Only you.”
