- You know the award show The Grammys that happens every year recognizing musicians?
- Well yes that is true, but did you know that Count Basie won two of the first ever Grammys?
- Oh yeah there was just one the other night! I can't believe Harry Styles won Album of the year!
- There is a lot of history in our everyday lives that we don't think of very often. You go to this theater pretty often and never actually thought about why it was called Count Basie.
- So you are saying that the guy who they named this theater after won the very first Grammy?! That is awesome, I never knew that about this theater.

- That's right! We mostly learned about major historical events that occurred in the U.S. but we don't often hear about history that is right next door. We also don't hear many stories from anything other that cis-white male perspectives of the story, so try and educate yourself on the history where you are from and you may find out a lot of cool new things.

- I guess you are right, I just always thought history was boring and I always heard the same parts of it over and over. But knowing that someone that cool came from so close to home makes it so interesting
