- Hello, I'm Yeh-Shen. I live with my step-mother and sister who are mean to me. I have 1 friend and it's my pet fish that I raised.
- My stepmother wanted me to go out and get some firewood but leave my coat so people don't see it. So, I listened to her and went to get some fire wood.
- My step-mother wanted me to get some firewood.
- When I returned home I found my fish dead and a man saying that the bones of my fish were very powerful. He also said that my stepmother was the reason for my sorrow.
- Since my mom wouldn't let me go, I asked my fish bones for help and they gave me some slippers and when I put them on my rags became a dress.
- FIsh can you please help me?

- When I went to the festival everyone was looking at me and I ran away but on the way, I lost my shoes. So, then a merchet gave it to the king
- The King found who the shoe belonged to and they ended up getting married. Yeh-Shen's stepmother and sister ended up getting piles of rocks fallen on them.
