KING HENRY



Henry VIII became King of England at the age of 18.

Heneeded a son to continue his bloodline in order to have a heir to the throne.



So KingHenry married a lady called Catherineof Aragon hoping she would give himthe son he needed.

But when she gave birth to a girl he was very mad and wanted a

divorce.

but when he asked the pope for a divorce the poperefused.

So King Henry then went and created his own church so he had no more rules to follow.

He created the Church of England

In his new church, King Henry VIII was able to marry and divorce lots of women until one gave him a son.
