Take a deep breathe in, and slowly blow out-lips pursed together- like you're breathing through a straw. almost like a whistle

That might be the first full breathe exhale I've had all week?!
I think I feel a little bit better, less jittery
I feel a little more calm too.
Why does this work?
Having a longer breathe out tells the reactive part of the brain we are ok, and moves us out of flight, fight freeze mode
I've always heard people say "take a deep breathe" but I've never thought about how it was a feedback mechanism to my brain!
