- Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson buy land from Napoleon. Thomas Jefferson wanted to expand the American Land. He also wanted to buy Louisiana for protection and to stop a slavery rebellion. And Napoleon needed the money to fight in the Great French War. Fortunately, Thomas Jefferson bought this huge piece of land for only 15M in 1803, which is around 360 million today.

- The land was unexplored, but there were Native Americans on the land. So, Americans made them go to the Oregon Trail, also known as the Trail of Tears. The Native Americans thought this was unfair because they had been living there for their whole life.

- Texas was revolting against Spain, this is because Spain's leader, Santa Anna, got corrupt and became a dictator. Also, Texas liked the idea of becoming part of the U.S.A. However, Spain believes that Texas just wants to revolt.
