- Queen Yashodharā once had a dream that she gave birth to her son next to a white elephant.
- The Queen miraculously gave birth to her son Siddhartha Gautama. Gautama was predicted to be a big ruler or god from birth. He is born in 6th BC in Nepal.
- Gautama's dad did not want him to be a big ruler, and since the household is patriarchal, he decided to give him all the luxuries in order to make Gautama happy.
- The young man went to the real world and realized that people suffered. He saw a injured man, a old man, and a corpse.
- The young man isolated himself from all of his luxuries. He started to contemplate in order to find the answer of why people suffered and had pain. He was very focused, for he ignored all surroundings and only focused on one thing.
- He found an answer after 49 days of meditation. He reached the goal of everyone: Enlightenment. Because of this, he his know as Buddha, or "The Enlightened One". Buddha wanted his philosophy to be spread toward the world, so he send missionaries to other countries.
- Now in day, Buddhism is a culture in where people have to follow the 4 noble truths and eight fold path in order to reach enlightenment. The culture is very cohesive with Buddha's life story.
