  • Hi Katie! ! I am so excited our first play date at my house!
  • Me too Emma! I can not wait
  • Happy Holidayss Kindergarten
  • TODAYS DATE: 12/18/2022
  • Bye Kids. Have a nice weekend!
  • Wheels on the bus go round and round...
  • Katie! It is almost time to go. Have you packed your bag?
  • Yes, Mommy! Let's go!
  • Does everyone not celebrate like me?

  • What is wrong hunny?
  • Katie is sad. She is not excited to do any of our Christmas traditions.
  • Emma and Katie will be having a sleepover at Emma's house! They are so excited.
  • What is wrong Katie?
  • I don't understand. It is Hanukkah. We are is supposed to play with the dreidel.
  • School is over. Katie and Emma head toward the bus. Katie wonders what they will do. Maybe they will play with a dreidel. After all, Katie is excited about Hanukkah.
  • Katie must not celebrate Christmas.
  • I have to get home! I hope Katie comes over right away!
  • That is a great idea! We can celebrate together!
  • Emma is thinking about how they are going to bake Christmas cookies, sing Christmas carols and even help decorate the tree! It is a tradition every year on December 18th! She is so happy Katie will be a part of it!
  • Let's teach the girls about both our traditions!
  • Katie and her mom are getting ready to go to Emmas! Katie does get a little scared of sleepovers. She is sad she will miss the lighting of the Menorah and singing hymns with her siblings.Hopefully they will do something similar at Emmas!
  • "Bye Sweetie," says Katie's mom! Emma and Katie are shouting with joy!Katie's mom, Cyndi is nervous she may have to pick Katie up later.
  • We are all different!
  • Emma walks in and is very confused. Nothing looks like her house. No menorahs, no dreidels. She is very confused since it is the second night of Hannakuha. Doesn't everyone have the same traditions?
  • Yay!
  • The sun has gone down. The girls have moved into the kitchen where Emma thinks they will bake cookies. Katie's mind is wandering.
  • I love our differences, Katie!
  • Let's do this more!
  • Emma notices Katie's change in emotion. She goes to her mom to express her concern. Her mom directs her. She comes back and asks Katie "is everything ok?"
  • Katie's face is sad. She wants to go home. Emma asks her what is wrong, and Katie starts crying.Emma's mom hears and runs into the kitchen.
  • As Emma's mom is entering she hears the conversation. She is going to call Katie's mom. She hopes she can explain the differences.
  • Katie's mom heads over to Emma's to explain that not everyone has the same traditions and holidays. She is worried Katie might not understand.
  • Both moms agree this is a great learning experience. They are headed to the kitchen to talk to the girls!
  • All 4 meet in the kitchen. Katie loves the comfort of her mom. The girls are still confused. Emma does not know the dreidel game. Katie doesn't understand why they are not celebrating her traditions.
  • They all go to the living room. Cyndi explains they have different traditions since they celebrate different holidays and that is okay. The girls are not sad, but rather curious.
  • Emma's mom says the difference is okay! They still can have a sleepover. She asks, "How about we do both of our traditions" The girls cheer with excitement!
  • They all enjoy a fire outside! Emma and Katie share their favorite traditions and enjoy bonding with one another! Time to go get the cookies and light the menorah!
