Women in ancient Aztecs had the roles of being mothers, weaves, midwives, housekeepers, and merchants. They were considered "equivalent" to men, bur men still controlled most of the roles that included dominating powers and markers of influence. Women were also expected to participate and contribute to agricultural and economic activities. This showed their roles in survival and stability of the empire. They were powerful and effective figures due to all of their hard work. Their rights and responsibilities made them recognized as indispensable women in ancient Aztec society.
