- Okay I figured it out so I measured how tall i was. I am 59 inches. Then I measured how far away I was from the football. I was 21 ft away which is 252 inches. The angle of elevation was 16. I need to find out the height of the opposite. I used the equation 252tan16=h to find the height of the opposite side (h). h = 72.26 inches. To get my final answer I added my eye level height 59+72.26= 131.26 inches. I need a ladder that os 131.26 inches
