Length of Term
Representatives are elected to a new term every 2 years. However, there is no limit to how long a member can remain in the House, as long as they continue to get re-elected.
Senators are elected for a 6 year term. There is no limit to how many terms can be served, as long as the person continues to get re-elected.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was only 29 years old when she was elected as one of New York's representatives in 2018. She was re-elected in 2020.
JFK was only 36 years old when he became Senator for Massachusetts in 1953.
In order to run for a spot in the House of Representatives, a person must be at least 25 years old, have US citizenship for the last 7 years, and be a resident of the state they wish to represent.
In order to run for a spot in the Senate, a person must be at least 30 years old, have US citizenship for the last 9 years, and be a resident of the state they wish to represent.
