Steve Jobs

Childhood and Education

Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, CA and was adopted at birth by Paul and Clara Jobs. The family moved to Mountain View, California when Steve was young, and he went to Reed College in Oregon. A bright student, but often bored in school, Steve got in trouble a lot for playing pranks on others. He dropped out of college and got a job making video games for Atari.

Family Life

Steve's biological parents were Joanne Schieble and Adbul Fattah Jandali. They wanted to get married but it was not allowed. In 1991, Steve married Laurene Powell Jobs, a successful business woman. The two had 3 children together; a son named Reed and two daughters, Erin and Eve. Steve also had a daughter from a previous relationship.

Accomplishments

Steve and his childhood friend, Steve Wozniak, began making computers in Jobs' garage and formed Apple Computer, which went public in 1980. When IBM designed the PC, it was much cheaper and Apple sales began to decline. Steve took the blame for this and resigned in 1985. He started his own software company called NeXT, and also purchased a graphics company that he renamed Pixar. In 1997, Apple purchased NeXT from Jobs, and help them with new products such as the iPod and the iPhone.

Theme

Steve Jobs was truly an inspiration, as a speaker, innovator, inventor, CEO, and businessman. He pushed himself and believed in his ideas and products; he never gave up. Steve was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, and fought hard for 8 years, proving that he was strong and determined.
