- So, Meg, how could someone with such great parents be failing and acting as bad as you are?

- Oh good! You have told me lots about Meg, and I have been waiting to meet her!
- Hello Mrs. Who! I brought my sister Meg and her friend, Calvin, along with me today.
- Hello! I'm Meg and this is Calvin. Charlles wallace has spoke of you many times to me.
- In the beginning Meg's father has disappeared, and Meg has not acted normal since. Her grades have been droping and she no longer fits in with any of her old friends. Before: A popular girl from Meg's school is making fun of Meg and her brother. Meg gets mad at her and she chunks a ball at the girls head. After: Meg is in the princials office and the principal talks to her about her punishment for the ball thing, and he talks to her about her grades.

- Charlles Wallace inviteds Mrs Whatsit in to meet Meg and their mother Mrs.Murry. They enjoy sandwiches and hot cocoa that Charlles Wallace has prepared for them. As Mrs. Whatsit is getting ready to leave and gettting her shoes on she mentions something called a tesseract. At first Mrs. Murry looked confused, but then she began to get mad.

- Charlles Wallace and Meg are on their way to meet Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which and they run into Calvin a guy from Meg's school, and they invite him to go with them. They get to the house and they meet Mrs. Who, but Mrs. Which isn't there.
- NOOOOOO!!! Charlles Wallace!
- After meeting Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, all three Mrs's take Charlles Wallace, Meg, and Calvin to a different planet called Uriel, because there is something called The Black Thing, that is controlled by IT. The Black Thing has Meg's father prisoned, and Charlles Wallace and Meg want to help get him out.
- Then the kids tessered straight to a place called Camazotz to find their father and they realize that everything and everyone on Camazotz is being controlled to do the exact same thing at the exact same time.
- While in Camazotz they see a man with circular glasses on. Charlles Wallace goes up to him, thinking the man is going to tell him where to go to get his father back. The man takes his glasses off and he has red eyes. Charlles looked into his eyes and then became hypnotized, and was being controlled by the man.
