- Siddhartha Gautama was born in Nepal, 563 B.C.

- He grew up wealthy and privileged. His father was very protective over him, hiring guards to stay with him. Siddhartha wasn't a fan.

- Whne he went out though, he came across what Buddhists referred to as the four signs. The four signs symbolize what one will go through in life, sickness death, losing everything. Unhappy things that his father sheltered him from.
- Siddartha ran away from home to become an ascetic, learning self-discapline.
- Siddhartha learned from many people, teachers and other ascetics and discapline. He finally found enlightenment by himself and became "Buddha" which means enlightened one.
- After becomming Buddha, he taught others his ways, which included the four Noble Truths, Wheel of Becomming, and the Eightfold Path to Enlightenment. After he died, his teaching were spread from India to other countries thanks to Ashoka the Great, a Mauryian king.
