- The three witches have a meeting and compose a spell to curse Macbeth the Thane of Glamis.
- And thus the end of Macbeth!
- The King of Scotland King Duncan and his son Malcom have a discussion with a captain of the Scottish army to see how the war against Norway is going.
- How did the battle go?
- Very well ,your majesty! We beat the Norwegians!
- Excellent.
- Macbeth shall be the new thane of Cawdor
- King Duncan, Malcom, Ross and Angus (two thanes) had a discussion about the traitor Thane of Cawdor and who will take his place.
- They Thane of Cawdor is a traitor!
- Good.
- Macbeth meets the three witches with his friend Banquo. The witches tell them three prophesies that bewilder Banquo and especially Macbeth.
- Ross and Angus tell Macbeth that he is now the Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth cannot believe it and wonders whether he will also become king.
- Macbeth who is now the Thane of Cawdor thinks that as he is not the king's son he is going to have to kill King Duncan.
