- Buddy is easily distracted by his friends and he misses the morning bell; this is explained by his challenges with orienting because he can't orient to the right cue.
- *chatter*
- That's the bell! We're going to be late, Buddy!
- When Buddy gets inside, his locker is disorganized and he can't find his pencil case; Buddy's disorganization causes him to forget what materials he needs for class.
- I saw a really cool snowman, I should go back and look!
- Buddy may have difficulty getting his materials ready for class because he struggles with transitioning or set-shifting; he just came into school but is still thinking about snow outside!
- Buddy! You're late to class!
- Buddy doesn't have his materials ready because he has troubles with planning, and because he's not ready, his teacher is upset with him.
- Buddy can't sit still because he has poor inhibitory control; he can't help his impulse to talk to his friends, even though the teacher is speaking and the class is upset!
- Buddy brought the wrong work to his morning class; he needs his math workbook but he brought his social studies work instead; this can be explained by Buddy's planning and organization challenges.
