स्टोरीबोर्ड पाठ

  • The British at the time still ruled India and despite his peaceful efforts to restore the peace, he was thrown into jail by British officers. After the public fought for Gandhi, his release was issued and he got the British government to sign an agreement to repeal some taxes. The British also promised more rights and wages for Indian workers.
  • Gandhi conducted the salt march in which he walked 400 km from his home to the sea to illegally collect salt. He told this to the British government before he did it as one of his beliefs was telling your enemy what you are about to do before you do it. He did this as there were taxes for the production of salt. By the time Gandhi reached the sea, he had gathered a group of over 1000 people behind him who took part as well. After this, he was arrested by the British officials for illegally collecting salt. After some mostly peaceful riots from the public, Gandhi was soon released and he persuaded the British to allow Indians to vote for politicians.
  • One of his beliefs/teachings was on satyagraha, a non-violent protest to fight oppression (prolonged cruelty from the authorities). These oppressions included racial discrimination, unfair taxation and colonial rule.
  • Stop Discrimination!
