Hey guys, today we are going to do a fun activity using our circle banner.
The OT is going to run a group session on boundaries using a banner with 6 different colors representing 6 different amounts of space.

To test our understanding, I am first going to give you a scenario. And I want each of you to stand as close or as far from me as you think is appropriate.
To see how well Ryan and Joey understand boundaries, the OT is going to test them with a scenario

I've got this!
I already know this
I am a stranger, and you see me coming towards you on the walking trail. How far away do you think you should stand from me?
Joey is beginning to show the pre-contemplation stage. He is sure he already knows this topic.

Joey, you are a little too close. Do you see where Ryan is? That’s it Ryan, you are a good distance away.
The OT here, is going to point out who is correct. Watch and see how Joey reacts.

I am not too close. You are wrong. You are all wrong.
Joey does not believe he is wrong and is not accepting what the OT is saying. Joey reacts negatively seeing no problem with his positioning.

Look Joey
That's okay Joey. We don't always agree. But we are all going to learn boundaries using my Circles Banner.
The OT is going to bring out a visual of her Circles Banner. This will help the boys better see what each amount of distance looks like.

These colors mean nothing
I love colors!
Here I have a circle that has 6 circles inside of it. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. They each represent a different amount of space.

To begin, we are going to define each of the colors together, so we all know what they represent.

Private space doesn't exist
Red is the stranger space, Orange is the wave circleYellow is the handshake circleGreen is the far away hug circleBlue is the big hug circle Purple is private space.
Joey is still not demonstrating the understanding of the "problem"

Not again!
Now that we know what each colors means, lets practice again. If I am a stranger and you see me coming on the walking trail, what color should you be in?
फिसलना: 11
I think Orange!
I think Green!
Joey and Ryan are going to try to identify, using their colors, the best place to stand when passing a stranger.

You are both right that we don’t want to be in purple or blue, but green is still to close. Orange or red would be the appropriate distance.
Joey is demonstrating that he still is not understanding boundaries like Ryan is. Joey is still in the pre-contemplation stage seeing "no problem."
