- For the most part Rome was pretty wealthy before the Punic wars. Rome had very few territory though.
- Carthage was also pretty wealthy before the Punic wars. Carthage had more territory than Rome though.
- The first battle, was a Naval battle. Carthage had an advantage because they were better fighting on water while Rome was better fighting on land. Even though Carthage had an advantage, Rome won because of the invention of the gangplank.
- We did it!
- The Carthage army travels by elephants to attack Rome from the north. The Carthage Army stays in the Alp mountains for a while until they decide to leave soldiers behind to go attack Rome directly. As Carthage begins to weaken, Rome sends 30% of their army to attack Carthage, ending in Rome winning this battle.
- Even though Carthage was very weak, Cato the elder pushed for another war. The city of Carthage was destroyed and burned, everything valuable was taking back to Rome, and they spread salt on the land so that no crops would be able to grow. The survivors of Carthage were then sold into slavery.
- Rome wins the war a wins more territory including Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, North Africa, and many more. Compared to the amount of land they started with, they gained a ton more.
