The Argument from Necessary Being Proof of God

- So I've been thinking...How do we know God is real, what if this religion is all made up?
- Well it can be confusing and hard to believe, but don't worry. A great Saint and Doctor of the Church named St. Thomas Aquinas made 5 proofs for the existence of God.

- Sure, that's a great idea, it's actually pretty simple. Here is the easiest one to understand in my opinion.
- Ok, one of St. Thomas Aquinas's proofs is The Argument from Neccessary Being. To explain, St. Aquinas used basic logic regarding creation. There had to have been someone or something to create the first person, because something non-existent cannot give itself its own existence. There had to have been someone who was always there, that didn't receive existance from another thing, but rather, who creates others. This being who was always there and started creation is God. Make sense?
- Ok, I get it. That actually makes sense. How could something that doesn't exist create a person. That means God created everything, and he has always existed. Thanks so much for explaining. I definitely believe in God now.
