- Trailer starts with Dudley running downstairs in a hurry. The camera follows him downstairs where he runs past Harry and pushes him against the wall. Dudley laughs and runs into the living room. We see Harry get up and straighten out his clothes. He walks to the living room where Uncle Vernon is holding a letter.
- When Harry enters the living room he sees Uncle Vernon who is holding a letter and is visibly upset. He sees Harry and immediately starts yelling at him to go help Aunt Petunia in the kitchen. Harry turns around and goes into the kitchen. Then we see Uncle Vernon throw the letter in the trash.
- The next day, more letters arrive and Uncle Vernon becomes more mad. He makes a personal effort to throw each and every letter away. He is clearly going mad. We see him rip every letter apart. Aunt Petunia, Dudley, and Harry stand by and watch him with concern.
- You're a wizard, Harry!
- To avoid the letters, Uncle Vernon takes the family to an abandoned shack on a lake so the post will not bother them anymore. Dudley and Aunt Petunia are very upset about this. Then we see Hagrid and kick down the front door.
- Uncle Vernon and Hagrid are arguing about something that Harry, Dudley, and the audience cannot hear. Then we hear Hagrid shout "So you never told him!" Uncle Vernon fights to keep Hagrid quiet. Hagrid turns to Harry
- Hagrid looks at Harry and says the famous line, "You're a wizard, Harry!" Uncle Vernon scowls. Dudley has a surprised look on his face. Harry is shocked and concerned.
- Cut to a scene of Hagrid and Harry in Diagon Alley. The street is very crowded and there are colorful signs along the street. Hagrid gives Harry a piece of parchment and says, "This is where you'll buy you're supplies."
- Now we see Harry seated comfortably inside a Hogwarts Express compartment. We see Ron Weasley, with his face stuffed full of chocolate frogs introducing himself to Harry.
- Now we see Hermione asking if anyone has seen Neville's toad. Then she introduces herself. She takes a look at Ron and gives him an unsettling look. Then she says, "You've got dirt on your nose just by the way."
- Join Harry on his journey to discover Hogwarts,
- Cut to a scene of the train pulling into Hogwarts. The camera pans around the castle so we can see the details of it. Several owls fly around the outside. Hedwigs Theme plays in the background.

- Now we see Harry in the Great Hall being sorted. The sorting hat is too big so it covers his eyes. A line of first years are waiting anxiously behind him. The hat screams Gryffindor and the Gryffindor table erupts in cheers. Hedwig's Theme still plays.

- Then we see Harry in the library. The walls are lined with books and artifacts. Harry is practicing a spell. There are green sparks coming from his wand. Hedwig's Theme continually plays. The narrator starts to speak.

- Hedwig's Theme still plays. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are walking up the Great Hall stairs towards the Gryffindor Common Room alone. The narrator still speaks.

- Harry is alone in a classroom. He is waving his wand trying to cast a spell. Hedwigs Theme plays. The camera zooms in on his wand.
- To discover creatures of all sorts,
- Harry and Hermione are in the gigantic Hogwarts library. Hermione appears to be showing Harry something in a book. Hermione is talking and Harry is listening, interested. Hedwigs Theme plays and the narrator speaks.

- Harry and Ron are walking down the forbidden forest. Trees and plants sway with the wind. The camera follows them from the back so you cannot see their face. Hedwig's theme plays and the narrator speaks.
- Harry, Hermione, and Hagrid are outside of Hagrid's hut. Hagrid appears to be showing them his dog, fang. They all have happy looks on their faces. Hedwig's theme plays and the narrator speaks.
- Harry is next to the Womping Willow. He holds his wand out infront of him and looks at the tree with a scared look. Hedwigs theme plays and the narrator speaks.

- Harry is walking alone down a dark corridor that leads to the room with the Mirror of Erised. His steps and shortened and shaky because he is scared. Hedwigs theme plays and the narrator speaks.
- Harry, Hermione, and Ron stand before the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall. Cheers erupt from all around because Gryffindor has won the House Cup. They all wear happy smiles. The narrator speaks one final time. Hedwig's Theme ends and so does the trailer.
