- Mr. Morrison was on his way to Little Willie's property when Kaleb Wallace's truck was veered across the road. His truck was blocking their way so Mr. Morrison moved it himself.

- You done killed him!
- Papa calls Uncle Hammer to tell him the note's been called. Uncle Hammer said that he'll get the money. He had to sell his car to do so.

- R.W. and Melvin ... they hurt me bad
- What's the matter ?
- T.J. showed up on the last day of the revival with his new friends, R.W. and Melvin. T.J. gets mad because The Logans don't like him hanging out with them since they treat him unfairly.

- R.W. and Melvin take T.J. to Mr. Barnett's mercantile to get the pistol but by the time they got there it was closed. So they break in and wake Mr. and Mrs. Barnette. R.W. knocks out Mr. Barnett with the flat of the axe. Mrs. Barnett thinks that they were African Americans. Then R.W. knocks out Mrs. Barnett.
- T.J. comes to the Logan's house to ask Stacey to walk him home because T.J. is afraid that R.W. and Melvin will be waiting for him at his house. T.J. tells Stacey and Cassie everything that happened at the mercantile and when R.W. and Melvin beat him up.They also threatened T.J. that if he told anyone they'd do worse. Eventually all of the Logan children walk T.J. home.
- Once the logan children drop off T.J., a group of cars start to come. Kaleb and Thurston Wallace break in the Avery household along with other men. R.W. and Melvin are also there and claim that they werent the ones who broke into Mr. Barnett's mercantile. They dragged out the Averys and threw some out the window. Stacey then tells Cassie to get Papa.
- -Now who was them other two and where's that money y'all took?
