- This shows that he was born into royalty and he was an important person even at such a young age. You can see that he is pretty young because of how small he is compared to the throne he's sitting in. "son of Laertes"(Homer 1109). This shows who is father was and what he was born into, along with people knowing whom is father was.
- Unmatched Warrior
- This shows that he was very crafty and was able to make a plan on the spot to get our of a situation. "My name is Nohbdy: mother, father, and friends, everyone calls me Nohbdy" (Homer 1118)
- Battles Supernatural Forces
- In this scene you can see that he is traveling and could possibly be lost. Odysseus gets lost for ten years when going on a trip to somewhere that should have taken them a few weeks to get to. "but as I cam round Malea the current took me out to sea, and from the north a fresh gale drove me on, past Cythera. Nin days I drifted in the teeming sea before dangerous high winds" (homer 1112).
- In this scene you can see that Odysseus is training his fighting skills and he is still a prince which isn't shown a lot in the books."and when they and it smooth, I heaved again to make a stake with pointed end" (Homer 1117). This shows that he had experience with sharpening tools and fighing.
- In this scene you can see that Odysseus gets himself up high-enough that he is able to stab the cyclops in the eye. Which blinds him and he falls onto the rock that was in the way of them getting out. "whose hand could thrust and grind that spike in Cyclops' eye"(Homer 1117).
