  • You are wrong! Matter is only made of 4 elements. Fire, water, Earth, and wind
  • What is STUFF, made of? Maybe tiny particles, surrounded by empty space? Maybe they even vary in size and shape? I will call these atomos, as they are indivisble!
  • I believe the Aristotelian Theory is wrong! Instead, compounds are a combination of atoms of various elements. Each of them have a specific mass, and size.
  • Prehaps the atom is not the building block of matter. I theorise that the atom is somewhat like a muffin. A uniformly packed sphere, with a positive charge. This sphere is filled with negatively charged electrons.
  • .
  • To prove Thomson wrong, I will investigate atoms more closely, by shooting alpha particles through gold foil. According to Thomson all of the particles must pass through, however 1 in every 8000 did not. I can conclude that the atom is mainly empty space, with very few electrons, with most of the mass concentrated in the center. I will name this the nucleus. The atoms that bounced back, came into contact with the positively charged nucleus.
  • Maybe Rutherford's atomic model could be expanded upon? The atomic model is insetad like a solar system, with electrons orbiting the nucleus at fixed energies and distances. They are not able to exist in the space between. This will be called the planetary moddel !!
  • .
  • I am dissatisfied with Bohr's theory, instead I have formulated an equation, in which I can describe the chance of finding an electron in a certain position. I will treat the behaviour of electrons as waves. My wave equation also calculates the energy levels of the electron. This will now be known as the quantum mechanical model of the atom!!
