- Mr. and Mrs. Morel don't have a rainbow and sunshine marriage. Ever since they got married Mrs. Morel didn't find the same happness in her relationship after the honey moonphase. She went to her kids for love and careness. But what opened Mrs. Morels eyes about her marriage was that Mr. Morel had unpaid bills. She confronts him about it and this makes her feel isolated towards her husband and to turn with her kids.

- Mrs. Morel would always turn to her kids for comfort, love, and attention what she didn't recieve from her husband. Yet out of all children she was closest with her older son William. She was protective with him and would want the best with him. Yet as he grew older she felt him being distant from the ball dance to him getting a job offer. This brings joyness and sadness as she would not have her son with her anymore.
- William is now engaged with a girl called Gipsy. He introduced her to his family but that situation changed his whole perspective on his fiance. He was mistreating his sister Annie as a servant and acted as if she was higher class than his family. He has a serious conversation before leaving back to London about even wanting to marry her now. But a little bit after arriving back home, he gets ill. His mother travels to go be with him and he dies after. This changing Mrs. Morel whole emotional world.
