- You know, although we initially became friends over are love of romanticism, we've never discussed one it's biggest contributors, Edgar Allen Poe.
- Now that you've mentioned it, I suppose we haven't.
- I just adore "The Raven" and how it delves into the psyche of those afflicted by the supernatural. And while "Annabel Lee" might be my personal favorite of his works, "Leigeia" in contrast might be more interesting as it has the beautiful woman's tragic death reversed by her coming back to life! It was a wonderful use of the supernatural. Poe's creativity alone places him as the epitome of a romanticist writer!
- But dear, Poe didn't follow every tenant! Where is the optimism, the belief in the common man? His works may be emotional and imaginative, but they're far from being positive.
- That's hardly an argument, but I suppose you're entitled to it, my dear. Who says one must follow every tenant to be a romanticist? I'll eat my own shoe if you can convince me otherwise!
- I've never been one to shy away from rabbit holes, but I agree let us save this for the morrow.
- Oh you jest, I'm sure if we went down a couple rabbit holes we could scrounge up a good argument. But I'll concede here for the night.
