- France in the late 1780’s was a very social class country. Your social power depended on if you were in the third, second, or first estate. However, the 3rd estate couldn't keep up with the 2nd and 1st estate greed for money. Many commoners were angry although the 1st and 2nd estate tried to make reforms to save money. The deficit was deep enough and it was impossible to try to fix it.

- The estates general meeting was a meeting between all 3 social classes in France. This assembly was held on May 4, 1789 in Versailles, France. This was mostly used to solve France's financial problems at the time.
- The Reign of Terror
- This was a protest between French revolutionist that wanted to revolt against the Monarchy. They then stormed the Bastille on July 14, 1791 in Paris, France. The French Revolutionist had absolute hatred for the King and Queen.
- The French King and Queen Louis XVL and Marie Antoinette wanted to escape from France. Their main destination was Austria however they got caught at Varennes, France. This was on July 21, 1791 and they wanted to escape to escape punishment from the revolutionist.
- The Girondins and The Jacobins were both groups that wanted to take over France. This was a a period of violence between the Girondins and Jacobins and mass executions between each other. This took place all over France between September 5, 1793 to July 28, 1794. This was mainly to purge France's enemies of the revolution and to protect the country from foreign invaders.
