- This story starts at the streets of Venus in Italy in the past. During a Carnival party. There are two main characters, Montresor and Fortunato. Montresor had been planning revenge on Fortunato for insulting him.
- Falling Action

- Montresor leads Fortunato to the catacombs beneath his home with the false idea of coming here for a rare wine called Amontillado, that Fortunato had been searching for, during this time Fortunato is also heavily drunk. Montresor takes advantage of this and plays with the idea of being a Mason.
- Resoulution
- Montresor lead Fortunato into a room that fit Fortunato perfectly, once Fortunato walked in Montresor restrained him and forced him into the room, Fortunato was too drunk to realize what was happening so he did not resist.
- Theme
- Montresor starts to brick Fortunato alive in a wall before Fortunato passes out from being over drunk. Montresor hesitates only for a moment but decides to continue to lay the bricks with his trowel.
- Montresor finishes up the wall completely sealing in Fortunato. He then stood up and left Fortunato behind the wall where no one would ever find out.
- I believe that the theme of the story is to get revenge on someone who does you wrong no matter the risk or cost.
