  • Kings
  • Ah, I love being the ruler of this whole city-state.
  • Priests
  • Say, being a priest is pretty nice.
  • I agree, worshiping gods and being highly known in the community is very nice.
  • Nobles
  • Isn't it nice being popular and respected in my community?
  • Kings were the highest level of the Maya Social Class as they ruled city-states and were the most popular for it.
  • Merchants
  • If only people would buy my products...
  • Priests were the second highest Maya Social Class because they were the ones having to do with worshiping and rituals which was a big part of the Mayan life.
  • Farmers
  • Why couldn't I just become a priest...
  • Nobles were the third highest social class and they were this high because they could also be warriors for the country or do other great work for the Maya civilization.
  • Slaves
  • I don't want to do this anymore!
  • Merchants were the fourth highest Mayan Social Class. Merchants were the ones making items and handcrafted ideas to sell to the community.
  • Farmers were the 5th highest Mayan Social Class. They were basically working as a slave, but it was better as it was a job, they weren't getting forced into to it other than for financial issues, and they were getting something out of it unlike slaves.
  • Slaves were the lowest Mayan Social Class. As with other places of our world that have had slavery, slaves are citizens who are forced to work with no benefits. They have no leverage to others since they are poor and are the lowest class.
