- After many years are war and congresses discussing the topic, the Articles of Confederation managed to finally unite the colonies. Even though the states existed mostly by themselves, they were still under the U.S. identification. They were the United States of America. The government made it the states responsibility to help provide assistance to one another. A strong bond was created within the colonies and more and more people began to truly be proud to be American.
- The Articles of Confederation created a good foundation for how our country would work. It gave every state power enough to be considered its own country. While this was mostly negative, there were some benefits. Since the people didn't want another Great Britain situation, the weaker federal government was made. This allowed for the states to be the deciding power on what would happen for them. At the time, many people didn't even see themselves as U.S. citizens. They identified more with their home state than with the country.
- Trade was a great benefit from the Articles of Confederation. Now instead of worrying about trading internationally, the states could trade with each other. This further unified the states and eventually the USA developed a nation personality.
