- The family is introduced as well as the setting, monkey's paw, along with the strange visitor who brought it telling them that the monkeys paw is a magical artifact that grants them three wishes with a consequence they ignore.
- Falling Action
- After the visit they make a wish for 200 pounds and later come to realize the mistake of voting as the visitor said the night before. When a random person comes knocking on their door they see its one of the family's sons partners at works. He tells them Herbert passed and they get the 200 pounds they wished for with a consequence. They mourn their sons loss until they have the idea to bring him back with the monkey's paw.
- Resolution

- As they wish the second wish for the son to come back as the mother requests. They fight over if they should do it or not as the father says no but is told to do it anyways. Then a knock on the door with a resonance and the knocking gets louder and louder as the thing at the door.
- He makes the third wish to wish the thing away to save them.
