- Bleeding Kansas is a small war between the pro-s and the anti-s. Violence between the pro and antis in the late 1855. The pro-slavery group stormed the stronghold of Lawrence on May 21st, 1856 by destroying printing presses, looting stores and homes, and committingarson. This was known as the 'Sack of Lawrence'. John Brown, an abolitionist, marched through PottawatomieValley and dragged 5 men from their homes and brutally murdered them. He went with his 4 sons and three other men. This occured on May 24th. There were many more little squabbles between the two groups.
- The Wyandotte Constitutionmade Kansas enter as a free state. Admission of Kansas entering passed the house but, Southern Senators delayed the voting. On January 29th, 1861 Kansas entered as a free state after getting approved. Bleeding Kansas would eventually lead into the Civil War (1861-1865)
