- Sorry, me and my crew just finished the last of it.
- Us mountain hunters are far more superior than you filthy pirates. Give us all the booze you've got!
- Keep my hat safe for me, and give it back once you've become a great pirate.
- This story starts out with a young boy named Monkey D. Luffy. He has recently become friends with a pirate named Shanks. Shanks has told Luffy all about his journeys at sea, and now Luffy has a new goal in life, to become a pirate.
- Uh oh.
- Luffy, Shanks, and Shank's crew are all enjoying themselves when a mountain hunter with a huge bounty comes in. The hunter demands all the alcohol in the bar but the pirate crew has finished it all! Distracted, Luffy takes a bite out of the Gum-Gum Fruit, a Devil fruit that gives you the power of stretching like rubber.
- 2) You can't leave, I won't let you!
- 1) I hate you and this crew, I'm leaving!
- After three weeks, Shanks and his crew have to go back out to sea. Luffy begs for Shanks to take him with them but Shanks knows that it wouldn't be safe. Shanks gives Luffy his hat and tells him to find him and give it back once he has become a great pirate.
- I already said no!
- You're on my pirate crew now.
- After 10 years Luffy is finally old enough to set out to sea and find a pirate crew. He has perfected the powers that the Devil fruit gave him, and he uses those powers to kill a sea monster that has been terrorizing his island for a long time. The monster falls down and that creates a huge whirlpool that sucks Luffy up.
- Luffy ends up on a pirate ship and meets a boy named Coby. Coby was a boy who got kidnapped by a pirate named Aldvia and her crew. Luffy helps Coby escape her and the pirates, and they head out to sea to find Luffy a crew.
- Luffy and Coby end up on a Military island, where a pirate hunter named Zolo is being kept. Luffy decides by himself that Zolo is a part of his crew now. Luffy helps Zolo escape the prison and makes the military let Coby be a part of their team. Luffy and Zolo then leave the island and set out to sea to look for a Navigator.
