- Alright class, today we are going to learn about our sexual health and the ways that you can all stay safe as teenagers.

- Stage 1 - Pre-transition/high stationary: birth and death rates are at an extreme high due to society's reliance on agricultural growth and production, and also, the insufficiency of the healthcare system and maternal care. For this reason, infant mortality rates are high and people have many children to ensure that some will be able to help in the family business.
- Ginger, I cannot believe we made it to Toronto! This has been my dream for such a long time and now I can finally do cancer research!

- Stage 2 - Early transition/early expansion: death rates are declining steadily as the healthcare system and pediatric care improve. However, the population grows as birth rates remain high. As modernization occurs in the mid to end 20th century, there are more technological and educational advances, and gender equality is prevalent in society.
- Do not worry, grandpa, I will take very good care of you and grandma. I will need to get a job soon to help mom and dad provide for you.

- Stage 3 - Late transition/late expansion: death rates remain low and birth rates begin to decline as women have better access to education and contraceptive resources. Total population growth starts to decrease as less children are being born and as women realize they are not subject to bearing children if they do not want to be.

- Stage 4 - Post transition/low expanding: birth and death rates are both low, stabilizing total population growth. Contributing factors include economic strength, job opportunities for women, education and healthcare systems thriving, and migration into cities for better opportunities. These economic and social changes are what make family sizes smaller and a population that is more manageable.
- Stage 5 - Declining?: as the older generations remain at their large size while younger generations decrease in theirs, the dependency load increases. This is called aging citizenry. Over time, as these genrations die, the population size will begin to decrease and modernized society will keep lower birth rates in place.
