  • I received an email from the art teacher saying that one of my students came into her room demanding markers for class. When she said she could not give them to him he got angry and continued to say that he needed them and should be allowed to have them. What should I do?
  • 
  • I know! I will talk to the student and explain to him why his actions were wrong. I think reporting him to the office would cause more anger and make the situation worse.
  • 
  • Hi, I wanted to talk with you because I received an email about the situation in the art room, we have markers here why did you decide to do that?
  • I needed the markers for our project and I should have been able to have them. I don't understand why she would not let me have them. 
  • I understand that you feel that way but those are her markers so she gets to decide what she would like to do with them. Just because you need them does not mean that you get to have them.
  • But, I needed them to contribute to my group. If I needed them I should be able to have them.
  • I understand that. We always have markers here if you need them for your group. But you barging into the classroom demanding the markers is not the best way to go about the situation. There is a better way to handle this situation and next time you should try and entering the room calmly and having a nice conversation with the teacher.
  • I understand now how my actions came across. I will try my best to enter the situation more calmly next time.
  • I think my student understand now what he needs to do in future situations as well as why his actions were wrong. I am going to email the art teacher back and let her know that I am sorry and that I have talked with my student to resolve the situation!
