  • We should stop slavery
  • The zigzag road to rights shows a struggle for freedom of equal rights among African Americans. There was a lot of pushing and pulling in this first attempt for African American rights but they were not successful.
  • Brown V Board of Education
  • In "What to a Slave is the 4th of July" Douglas gives his opinion on the fourth of July. He explains how we used to fight for our freedom and how we should mourn the ones who died, not party. The public turning the 4th of July into a party is a great example of how freedom has changed because now most everyone isn't even fighting for their freedom because they already have it. Now we all partying together as one.
  • The Social Dilemma
  • The purpose of Lincoln's second in Inaugural address was to help calm the people after the war. He said that slavery was the cause of the war ad started to imply that we should end it and it was a big changing point.
  • In the Brown V Board of Education trial, the policy of separate but equal was ruled unlawful and was to be no longer followed. This was the biggest transition or change from having slavery to finally becoming free.
  • In the social dilemma freedom of slavery was already accomplished. The only thing that has changed is now there is a lot more fighting for freedoms of other things like gay rights.
