- Hey there! My name is mark and I like to use math to find out how high or far things are, come with me on this math journey!
- I'm about 10 feet away from that humming bird, and im looking up at the bird at a 45 degree angle, i need to find how high the bird is flying, so i did, Tan(45)*10 which gave me 10 ft tall therefore, the bird is flying 10 ft high
- we are in a helicopter above on end of the golden gate bridge, im locking down at the other end at 89 degrees, our guide told us the golden gate bridge is 8981ft long i need to know how far i am from the other end so i did, Sin(89)*8981 which gave me 8979.63 ft therefore, we are about 8980 ft away from the other end
- im 300 feet away from the eiffel tower, my guide told me the eiffel tower is 984 feet tall i need to know at what angle i need too look at in order to see the top of the eiffel tower so i did, inverse Tan(984/300) which gave me 73 degrees therefore, i need too look up 73 degrees.
