- Beth is a ghost as she died in a car accident, on her way to a birthday party. Her Aunt Viv was driving her at the time and only contained minor scratches, this leads to Michael, Beths dad to not like Aunt Viv.
- Michael and Beth head to a country town to investigate a fire in a children's home, with one person being 'killed in the fire'. It is unsure who it is until the autopsy and Both of them go searching for more information. The head to the hospital to meet with the witness.
- Michael and Beth Teller meet Isobelle Catching, the witness to the house fire in the hospital who explains her story about what happened to her.
- Catching tells the story that she is taking by things called the 'Fetchers' she is taking into a portal and meets a new character called 'Crow'. When she is taken in she eats things then becomes completely paraplegic, she is then taken by Fetchers to a stump and the 'Feed' takes all of her 'colours'. they then fight them after lots of self talk and escape the place they are being held in.
- Michael then figures out that the head of the police department, Derek Bell, in the town was one of the feeds and the other was the owner of the burnt down house, Alexander Sholt after visiting Bells house and listening to Isobelles story.
- Michael find the place where Catching was taken to and finds bad things inside. Catching, Crow and Beth all go to the 'Colours', the other side, this is where they will go and leave the Earth, Michael and Beth are very sad to be leaving each other but they push through. Michael is friendly with Aunt Viv again. They go and spread their colours into the Earth.
