Hey, Sophia, what are you going to debate about for language class.
I'm not sure Hector, let me think about. I'll tell you later, okay?
I think I'm going to argue that kids shouldn't have their phones during the school day.
That's funny because I was going to debate that phones should be allowed in school.
But phones are such a distraction, especially since we have social medial today.
I see how you might think that but, what if you have an emergency and you're the first person that you're family thinks of to text, huh, Hector?
Phones give people a better way of communicating even during school.
Imagine you listening to the teacher and mid-sentence your phone beeps and you pull out your phone. Think of all the distractions.
It gives people a way of speaking to each other when they are not in the same classes together. What if you want ask what time an assignment is due?
You have a good reason, but why not text them after-school.
Mrs. Potter will be proud of the way we are debating right now.
